ABeka Core Curriculum

At GCA, we strive for unity in vision, philosophy, curriculum, and methodology. We have chosen to use the Abeka curriculum for Language Arts, Science, and History throughout all grade levels. Abeka is widely recognized as the benchmark for a high standard of excellence, both in academics and in their Christian approach to all subject matter. God’s purposeful design is taught in every aspect of education, from penmanship to biology to grammar. The structured manner in which information is presented is a direct illustration of I Corinthians 14:40 – “Let all things be done decently and in order.” This is also emphasized in the classroom management criteria that is incorporated into the curriculum. By utilizing the tools that Abeka places into our hands, we are able to execute clarity of vision and effectiveness of operation.

Saxon Math Curriculum

Mathematics is the language God used in His creation of the universe, and thus it is logical, orderly, beautiful, and very practical in science and in daily life. At GCA, we see mathematics as an opportunity to explore the God-given absolutes in the universe and to work diligently in finding accurate solutions to the problems presented to us. As early as second grade, Saxon implements sequenced small pieces called “increments” that are related to geometry and algebra, establishing the important foundation that students will build on throughout their time at GCA. Later, these students will delve into more advanced concepts such as trigonometry and calculus which are seamlessly integrated into the higher-level courses. Our national achievement test scores in mathematics are consistently above average, due to the bright-minded students at GCA, our incredible staff, and the Saxon math curriculum.
